PV*SOL Live webinar

Get productive with PV*SOL Design Software from day one and turn designs into business opportunities. A 90 min live webinar with a complete walk-through incl. 3D planning, shading analysis, custom battery system selection and feasibility report export using real South African examples. Recording included so you can follow along with your own design.

Description

Getting started with new software tool can be time consuming and frustrating: the features are extensive, the interface isn't always intuitive, and trial and error wastes time you don't have.

This 90-minute live webinar cuts straight to what matters. We walk through a complete real project from start to finish: 3D building extraction from Google Maps, PV generator sizing in 3D, shading simulation, component selection including a custom battery system, and the PV*SOL feasibility report that clients actually want to see.

Everything is based on real-life South African examples and the kind of challenges that come up regularly for designers working in this market, not generic demos that don't translate to local conditions.

You'll receive the full recording after the session, so you can replay it and follow along step-by-step with your own project at your own pace.

Target Audience

This webinar is for solar professionals who are already working in design and want to start with or get more out of PV*SOL Premium. It is best suited to participants who have already started using the software before, whether through a trial version or as new licence users:

  • PV designers at EPCs, engineering and consulting firms
  • Solar professionals at SMEs who handle both design and project management
  • Graduates of our SuperSolarSchool or Commercial PV Design course who want to build on the PV*SOL introduction included in those courses
  • PV professionals who want to sharpen their software skills and produce more polished client proposals

Main Topics

  • 3D building extraction, module assignment and string interconnection
  • Shading simulation
  • BOS selection from the PV*SOL database, including adding custom components and building battery systems
  • PV system sizing with battery storage using hybrid inverters
  • Feasibility calculations using Eskom electricity tariffs
  • Assembling and exporting the project report

Prerequisites

Solid working knowledge of PV system design is required; this session focuses entirely on software use, not design principles. If you're new to design, we recommend completing SuperSolarSchool or Commercial PV Design first, the latter includes an introduction to PV*SOL Premium as well.

We also recommend to watch our PV*SOL playlist on Youtube to familiarise yourself with the principles beforehand.

You don't need to own a PV*SOL licence to attend, but having access to a trial or full licence after the webinar will let you make the most of the recording.

Registration Process

When you click on REGISTER, you will need to provide all of your particulars in order to be issued with a pro-forma invoice. Your attendance of any training or assessment can only be confirmed on full payment of the invoice. Please consult our T&Cs for more information.

Accreditation

International accreditation by the German Solar Energy Society (DGS e.V).

Your Next Step

Want to go deeper? If this webinar sparked an interest in more advanced system design, Commercial PV Design is the natural next step. It's a three-day course that covers the full design process for commercial and industrial systems, with an extended PV*SOL Premium session included.
