Our presenters

Willem van Schalkwyk started his own solar company MyEcoFuture in 2014. He has an electrical background and over the years accumulated valuable experience in electrical installations and solar installations. His area of expertise includes SMA, Victron and SolarEdge products and installations (residential and commercial) in the range of 5 to 150 kWp.

He participated in training at maxx|solar academy in 2014 and focused on building up his own successful EPC until he finally agreed to join GREEN again as a trainer in 2020. He now especially trains solar design in the SuperSolarSchool and design and project management in the Designer Commercial course and is a true master of Pivot tables and load profiles in Excel!

About Prof. Dr. Yao Azoumah

Prof. Dr. Yao is our international trainer and a trainer at the Academy in Ghana. He is a specialist in solar energy, and he is the director, founder and CEO of KYA Energy Group. His experience includes all kinds of technical topics regarding solar PV planning, design, and simulation as well as project management and implementation.

He leads a growing team at his company’s headquarters in Lomé, Togo, and is actively involved in a variety of solar projects in the whole West-African region. Furthermore, he is a successful author and lecturer at the University of Lomé and others. For GREEN, he is available as a trainer and training developer for any kind of specialised or advanced training.

About Yonas

Meet Yonas, an experienced trainer at GREEN Solar Academy in Ethiopia. With a diverse background in solar energy and renewable technologies, Yonas excels in the supply, installation, and commissioning of industrial machinery, laboratory equipment, and solar PV systems.

His eight-year tenure at LYDETCO PLC saw him holding various roles, including Sales and Field Engineer, Senior Sales and Field Engineer, and Technical Director. At STIFTUNG SOLARENERGIE, he served as the Technical Director, overseeing rural solar electrification projects, developing solar home systems, and ensuring quality control of PV components.

Currently, Yonas is the Managing Director at SUN TRANSFER TECH PLC, specializing in renewable energy, particularly solar PV systems. With his vast expertise, Yonas plays a crucial role in imparting valuable knowledge and skills to aspiring solar experts at GREEN Solar Academy in Ethiopia.
