Frangilio Nhanale

About Frangilio

Frangilio is our master trainer at the Academy in Mozambique. He is a project manager and photovoltaic technician at Logos Industries with over 7 years in the renewable energy industry. He also has extensive experience designing solar projects, backup systems, and solar pumps.

As a technical allrounder, he likes to share his experience across all disciplines of solar and enjoys interacting with new solar enthusiasts.

Jonathan Joseph

About Jonathan

Jonathan is our trainer at the Academy in Namibia. He has been a solar trainer since 2015, training students for the NGO Young Africa on basic solar installation and maintenance as well as professionals for GREEN and previously maxx-academy. He has built up his skills from scratch and now successfully runs his own business Shangheta Solar Energy Consultants. Over the years he has gathered broad experience in solar systems sizing, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

Jonathan is a very practical and knowledgeable trainer who not only benefits from the industry but also has long-term teaching experience.

Junior Pieter Jacobus le Grange

About Junior

Junior is a trainer at GREEN Solar Academy in Cape Town. He is a qualified electrician with 10 years’ experience, and has been installing solar power for 4 years. He is the owner and director of Le Grange Services, a registered electrical contractor, which offers domestic, industrial and commercial electrical maintenance and installations. Junior believes professional training in solar is essential to improve not only the industry, but the individual installer.

Kobus Theron

About Kobus

Meet Kobus, an esteemed trainer at GREEN Solar Academy in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN). With over four decades of diverse experience, Kobus is the ideal solar course trainer. He started his journey as an apprentice specializing in heavy industry electrician work, gaining expertise in motors, motor control panels, overhead cranes, pump stations, and stainless steel melting and casting plants.

As a Senior Electrician, he oversaw the maintenance and construction of the municipal network up to 11 KV, water purification works, and sewerage plants. Kobus also excelled as a Senior Technical Assistant, demonstrating proficiency in metering, tariff structures, and project management. With his entrepreneurial background in electrical contracting, he successfully handled various projects, including high mast lighting and upgrading municipal substations.

His wealth of practical knowledge and real-world insights make him an invaluable asset in shaping the next generation of solar experts at the academy.

Letlhogonolo McDonald Sekoa

About McDonald

McDonald is an experienced trainer at GREEN Solar Academy in Johannesburg. McDonald's diverse background includes being an Electrical Engineering Intern where he gained comprehensive training in electrical engineering, hand-skills, and mechanical engineering awareness.

He served as a Junior Electrical Technician, providing essential support in maintenance duties at the University of Johannesburg campuses. He also mentored electrical interns in the Maintenance department.

As an Installation Technician McDonald specialized in installing PV Solar systems on client properties at Greensun Pty (Ltd).

Since January 2023, McDonald has been a valuable Trainer and Content Developer at GREEN Solar Academy, conducting top-notch training sessions and collaborating with content designers for continuous improvement.

With his extensive background in electrical engineering and expertise in PV Solar installations, McDonald is a highly qualified and effective trainer, shaping future solar experts in Johannesburg and beyond.

Lyndsay Cotton

About Lyndsay

Lyndsay is one of our trainers at the Johannesburg and Pretoria Academy. He is a registered electrician and studied Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying. One of the subjects he majored in was Electrical understanding of SANS 10142-1.

He started his own construction business in 2003 and is currently a partner and director for LCP Solar. Lyndsay is a man with attention to detail, he has developed SANS 1900 and 1395 QM processes for his businesses and has also assisted in developing some of our courses at GREEN Solar Academy.

He started training at the academy in 2021 and finds it energising interacting with his students, he is always ready to help new installers with questions and projects and always tries to take away snippets of wisdom offered by the participants for himself!

Marius Geldenhuys

About Marius

Marius is our master trainer for design and PV simulation software. He runs his own company Adaptive Solutions which focuses on PV project design, software solutions, and energy efficiency. He is a registered member of the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) where he is accredited as a Certified Energy Manager.

Marius has been teaching for GREEN (and before maxx) since 2013. He is also an expert for PV SOL Premium by Valentin Software and developed various training courses on the topic. Together with Vivian Bluemel he is also the mastermind behind the GREEN course content and develops new courses and frequently maintains existing material.

Mathias Weber

About Mathias

Mathias is our master trainer at the Cape Town Academy. He is responsible for both theory and practical training, thanks to his extensive experience in the solar and manufacturing industries. He has been active in the solar industry even before it became cool in the 2000s and therefore is our trainer with the most experience. After several years at MLT, he became an expert in inverters and now is a director of his own solar installations company Southern Cross Renewable Energy Technologies.

Moses Dube

Moses Dube is the director of Shane'D Electrical Engineers, which specialize in Solar Installations and Design in Botswana. Moses trained and graduated as an Electrical and Electronics technician in 2004 and went on to work in the electrical field for more than 15 years. He attended GREEN's SuperSolarSchool in 2021, and decided he wanted to operate a solar academy in Botswana. He completed GREEN's Trainining of Trainer programme and is now managing the GREEN Solar Academy in Botswana.

Neal Rampersadh

About Neal

Neal is an experienced banking representative, with an established track record of servicing the financial sector since 2013. He started his career as an Absa Graduate with a definite focus on credit analysis and intentionally paved his journey into deal solutions, client relationships, and structured finance roles, particularly within the Business Banking segment over the last 10 years. Investing in strong relationships through acute business acumen and building vested trust with his key stakeholders has allowed him to grow his brand within the industry, and further expand his intentions to be innovative in the sector.

His passion lies in solutioning businesses that are disruptors in the market. Finding bespoke solutions coupled with cash flow lending allows him to display his love for corporate finance.

Renewable energy is held very close to his heart, with his focus now being facilitating funding solutions within the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) leg of this new and exciting sector. His expertise now adds value to the strategic team within the New Sector Development sphere of Absa Relationship Banking.
